Here is an official statement from FCA US LLC about the most recent recalls.
"FCA US LLC acknowledges the admissions in its Consent Order with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We also accept the resulting consequences with renewed resolve to improve our handling of recalls and re-establish the trust our customers place in us. We are intent on rebuilding our relationship with NHTSA and we embrace the role of public safety advocate. Accordingly, FCA US has agreed to address certain industry objectives, such as identifying best practices for recall execution and researching obstacles that discourage consumers from responding to recall notices.
FCA US and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (or NHTSA) have signed a consent agreement which includes potentially buying back certain eligible vehicles that are part of the following recalls: N08, N63, R16 and N49. The details for these buybacks will be defined in the coming weeks and all customers whose vehicles are included will be contacted. If you already had the recall repair performed, no further action is necessary at this time.
Recalls N45 and N46, while not included in the potential buyback program, may be eligible for recall completion incentives and/or trade assistance. Details for these programs will also be finalized in the coming weeks and customers whose vehicles are included will be contacted.
The safety of our customers and vehicles is of utmost importance to FCA. As further information is available on both the buyback and incentive programs, we will continue to update this information"
